As I watched different television series and the topics they discuss, such as infidelity, match-making, and money-making, I wonder where the great shows went. What happened to shows that genuinely made you laugh, actual scripted shows, not shows that were focused on humor at others expenses? What happened to cartoons that were actually for kids, not shows that dealt with teenage issues while a 7 year old watches on. I think of the time when I was a child during the early 90s and I remember how nice and simple those times were. There wasn't alot of worry from the FCC or parent groups. Life just was... life. Easy. What happened to those days? And how do we get them back? How do we turn from a society so focused on others lives and failures to one that values the good moments again? We start by readjusting the focus of our television shows. |

I completely agree with you. The only television I really watch is reality TV (the less nauseating shows like Idol, Biggest Loser, Survivor and Dancing with the Stars). It's the closest I will probably get to family-style television like the shows I grew up watching (I Love Lucy, The Brady Bunch, etc). |
